Weekend Visiting

This weekend we went in to my aunt's house in the "burbs". Although we drove in pouring rain all the way there on Friday, by afternoon it cleared up and we were able to spend some time in my aunt's heated pool. Levi went in with grandma and grandpa at first and was okay for a little bit but then wanted mom. We found that he prefers not to be in the floatie because he can't get close enough to the water. He likes to put his face in. The only problem is that he ends up drinking the water and then coughing. We found that he is definitely a little fish. He loves the water!! On Saturday we had him in for about an hour and got him out because he was shivering. Rachel was still in the pool and he decided he wanted in and did figure out how to get his legs over the edge to get in. Of course I was right behind him and Rachel was in the pool right in front of him.

On Friday night we grilled out hamburgers and had potato salad and other goodies. My aunt had put out some black olives and Rachel decided to give Levi a piece of one to try. When he got it in his mouth he said "yum" as clear as day. It was so cute! We were all really surprised because olives are kind of a different taste.





Isn't this picture great? Rachel took it from the pool. We didn't realize until we downloaded it onto the computer how great the details were. The water droplets in the air are just one of the great details we noticed. If you click on the picture you can see it bigger and can see the details much better. Rachel is going to enter this photo in the county fair. I was thinking I may see if there are any other photo contests to enter it in.


My aunt Diane and Levi. She is the one who took my dad and I to the airport and picked us up again when we came back from Vietnam. We stayed at her house that night before heading home.

My cousin gave us a boatload of toys, books, videos, etc. for Levi. We filled up our entire van and sent some things with my parents as well. It was like Christmas and his birthday all wrapped up in one.



We also got to meet Jessica and Ethan in person. It was so sweet to see the boys together. They played with Ethan's toys - not together but side by side. When one had a toy, the other one wanted it. We have been blessed to see pictures from when Chad and Jessica were in Vietnam getting Ethan and then as he has grown and developed since coming home. We have always enjoyed all the silly faces he makes and yesterday we got to see some of his silly faces in person. He is absolutely as adorable in person as he is in photos. When Ethan's grandparents left, he went to stand by the door to see them off. Levi decided that he wanted to stand there too. It was the cutest thing to see. Rachel went out to take their pictures from the otuside. We look forward to getting to know them better. It is nice to know that one of Levi's buddies is only a short distance away. I hope that they can become good friends over the years. Hopefully Chad Jessica and Ethan will be able to come and visit us sometime.













Before heading home we stopped at Panera Bread and got some supper to eat in the car. Rachel ate hers and then fed Levi. He just sat in his car seat with his hands behind his head and let her do it. I think he was rather enjoying being fed. It was really quite comical, especially because he just thought he was sooo funny.
